Despite recent criticisms that have been leveled at training as a discipline, training is still an important part of the learning and development professionals’ toolkits. In this climate of economic restraint, it is especially vital that any training that is done be implemented successfully.
Are tacit mental models limiting your effectiveness? Mental models, or the way we see and define the world, clearly influence our thinking, actions, and experience of the world. Peter Senge and other thought leaders suggest that when we challenge and change our mental models, which may include deeply ingrained assumptions we are unaware of, we can change our behaviors and create different results.
